Devoted to organization and progression of In-Line Skating in the Rocky Mountains

Welcome to Fiftytwoeigty's first-ever interactive Spot List. We decided to leverage the excellent free mapping technology of Google Earth in order to provide the most robust platform for navigation and visualization. Unfortunately, for now we are tied to Google Earth's system requirements. You can find these at the download page http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html. Now not only can you find spots but also get directions, look at them in 3-D and find just about anything else that might be near by. The installation instructions are as follows:

  • Download Google Earth from http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html
  • Install Google Earth (Don't worry there is no spy ware associated with it, it does require a High-Speed Connection, however.
  • Download the spotlist here
  • Expand the SpotList.zip using any unzip method you like. A folder or a file (depending on your method) will appear.
  • If the folder appears open it, if just the file appears then you are set. The file name should be "SpotList.kmz".
  • The file name should be "SpotList.kmz".
  • Double click on the file, if you installed Google Earth correctly the file should open Google Earth for you. If not youll have to open the spotlist file from inside Google Earth like you would a Word document.
  • The 'Fiftytwoeighty' spotlist will be added to your "Temporary Places' Folder. You need to drag it up to the "My Places" Folder.
  • Once the SpotList has been added to your "My Places" you can delete the downloaded file from your desktop.
Now all you have to do is have fun navigating. The beauty of this spot list is that you will never have to download another file again. It will be dynamically updated every 24 hours. Every time we add new spots to the list you will have access to them its that simple. Of course this means you need to continue to send us spots via email us The spot list has been organized as a series of folders in three parts: MHB - all the spots form the Mile High Battles Skate Parks - All the skate parks we could think of Street Spots - All the submitted street spots We also look forward to your comments good or bad. We want the spot list to be something useful to you and therefore we need your feedback to make it better. You can either post up on the messageboard or send email to skatespots@gmail.com
